How to activate red cap in super mario 64

If players use the Wing Cap correctly, the star should appear at the tower in the middle of the level. Before players leave, they should hit the exclamation mark switch next to the star.

By doing this, all the red boxes scattered throughout different levels will now be available for players to use where they are located. Part of the fun in Mario 64 is racing to collect all the stars.

Unlocking red blocks to use the Wing Cap is only going to make that journey easier for players. However, this power-up only lasts around 60 seconds, so players should plan their route ahead of time before opening the red boxes. As the game starts you will enter the peach castle and there you can visit different maps to and collect stars.

You will start with the map Bob-omb Battlefield and eventually unlock different areas. Once you have collected 10 stars from different areas come back to the peach castle main hall and stand in the center where the sun portrait will be below you.

There will be a ray of light coming from the sky which was not there earlier. All you need to do is to look at the sky from where the ray is coming and you will be teleported to a new map where there will be a lot of towers and you will be flying. Look down and go to the first tower where you will find a red switch. If you collect all the coins on the tower area, you will also gain a power star. Stomp on the red switch and you will see a red block with an exclamation mark now unlocked.

Break that block and you will now get the red cap power. Use the camera button to look up at the source of the light and you'll be transported to the Wing Cap area. There's a Castle Secret Star that can be obtained here by collecting all 8 of the red coins, but if you just want the red blocks activated, fly down to the tower in the center of the map and hit the switch.

If you do not see the bright light, you can still access the tower of the wing cap level as Mario. Simply stand on the star pattern on the floor and look up towards the ceiling. You will be warped to a level and find that you're flying.
