Source games freeze computer
Dunno why. Was it overclocked? I am on the left side. I think i will throw it to a service,and leave it here until they totally fix this fteezing,and everything.

So I was fighting PC freezing issues for about a month straight, only in game though I have a gtx 6GB and i7 K, after trying all the windows updates, clean installs of windows , driver updates and buying a new PSU and motherboard I found the solution.
So every thread I have yet to read no one has mentioned to update every driver in the device manager. Windows does not automatically update chipset drivers and COM drivers. If you are having freezing issues its very likely that your chipset drivers are outdated and I would get to it. The process takes a while but it solved the issue for me and I hope it will for you as well. This seems viable ima try this and give results.
I did what you said! I play GTA 5 for an hour then it freeze so i need to reboot my pc! My system gets Hang or freezes while playing games any type I had this problem too. Finally it solved by run my game with integrated graphic. This is not a solution it's a downgrade. I am having the exact same issue. Thanks again for the suggestions. Also another thing I have noticed is that if I leave TF2 up while idling, if I'm taking a nap or something, it will almost always freeze. But, if I minimize TF2 and let it idle at my desktop it doesn't freeze.
So it seems to me that points toward video card heat. Use the CCC to set a fixed fan speed and see if you still crash. Was the Internet thing a red herring? I don't know, it sure it weird that it freezes everytime I reboot the router from my PC though.
Maybe going to windows 7 would cure all the ills. Also deleted the blob files a while ago and the game started minimizing for no reason. TF2 is a bitch to minimize and try and get back in it again. TF2 minimizing shouldn't be such a pain in the neck. On mine it takes about 15 seconds to get back from the desktop back to the TF2 full screen mode. Just out of curiosity, kill CCC. If you suspect the heat, open the side panel of your PC and try again.

This looks pretty bad on Microsoft for an tech to offer a solution that is no way related with the issue. The issue seems to be with Windows Defender of what I've gathered online. Adding folders of the game install directories seem to temporary resolve it, but the issue does come back. The issue with the dead freeze for a few seconds, and then the game resuming back to normal like nothing ever happened. This issue is still on-going for me, and rather annoying.
